Positive Behavior Support Program: Created around the acronym PAWS (Positive--Achievement--Work Hard--Safety), students are acknowledged for appropriate choices that align with Black Rock expectations.
Student Council and Leadership Club: Student representatives work together to encourage school spirit and community service projects including the Penny Harvest sponsored by the Young Philanthropists Association.
"No Bully": Teachers at all grade levels use the "No Bully" curriculum to teach students effective strategies for identifying and responding to bullying behaviors.
Black Rock Choir: Students in grades four and five practice weekly and perform at a variety of events.
Odyssey of the Mind: On teams, student select a problem and generate a solution to perform at regional and state competitions.
MESA: A national program that focuses on a collaborative, project-based curriculum, while building math, science, technology, and communication skills.
Broadcasting: Students in grades five learn broadcasting skills and provide daily announcements on our closed circuit system.
