I am so delighted to have the opportunity to join the staff, students and community at Black Rock Elementary as the new Assistant Principal! I have heard so many great things about your school!
This past school year, I taught 5th grade at Blue Mountain Elementary, where I have also taught 2nd grade and full day kindergarten. Prior to coming to St. Vrain nine years ago, I worked as a special educator in New Hampshire and California. Altogether I have 23 years of teaching experience and can't imagine doing anything else! I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees from Utah State University, and recently completed my administrative certification at CU Denver.
I live in Longmont with my husband and children. I have a daughter, Katy, who is finishing her sophomore year at Colorado School of Mines, and a son, Jay, who is also a sophomore at Silver Creek High School. I love spending time in the mountains with my family, baking something yummy, and reading a good book.
I am passionate about education, eager to learn new things and excited about this new adventure. I especially look forward to getting to know everyone at Black Rock!
