Black Rock Elementary offers a number of co-curricular activities designed to support student learning. These activities include:
Student Council and Leadership Club
Student representatives work together to encourage school spirit and community service projects including the Penny Harvest sponsored by the Young Philanthropists Association.
Black Rock Choir
Students in grades four and five practice weekly and perform at a variety of events.
Odyssey of the Mind
On teams, student select a problem and generate a solution to perform at regional and state competitions.
MESA
A national program that focuses on a collaborative, project-based curriculum, while building math, science, technology, and communication skills.
Broadcasting
Students in grades five learn broadcasting skills and provide daily announcements on our closed circuit system.
