Meet our New Staff!!!!
Music
Hi everyone! My name is Iris Magers, and I’m so excited to be joining Black Rock Elementary next school year. I pursued a music education degree at CU Boulder. I’ve been teaching music for about two years and absolutely love sharing the joy of music with students.
I started learning piano at age five and later taught myself to play the cello and violin. In my free time, I enjoy composing original songs and creating soundtracks for video games. I also love crafting earrings, hiking, and eating sushi (definitely my favorite food!).
I’m really looking forward to connecting with all of you and making music together!
Best,
Iris Wong

Library
My name is Rebekah Kasenberg and I am so excited to be in the library this year! I have a 1st grader and a 5th grader here at Black Rock and am thrilled to join the staff of this wonderful school. I have 13 years of elementary teaching experience and have taught at schools in California, New Jersey, and Colorado. I took some time away from the classroom when my second child was born and am looking forward to being back at a school full time again. Literacy has always been my favorite to teach so I am eager to share my love of books and reading with the Black Rock students in library this year!

Computers
Hello, my name is Mrs. Knox and, although most of you know me from my last 2 years as Black Rock’s Media Tech, I am excited to make the move this year to Lab Tech. This will be my 4th year overall as a Wildcat and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. My husband, two kids and I made the move to Erie 5 years ago from Texas and have made it our home. The people here, along with the cooler weather, have been great reasons to put down a few roots. My son, Tyler, is a proud Erie High School graduate, and my daughter will be starting her Junior year here at St. Vrain. I love Erie and treasure the friends and families I’ve met here, especially at Black Rock. I look forward to a great year in Computer Lab. Go Wildcats!

1st Grade
Hello!
Hello! My name is Gianna Bloch, and I’m thrilled to be joining the Black Rock community! I am very excited to be teaching 1st grade this year. I bring two years of experience teaching 4th grade and over six years of working with students of all ages. It’s clear that Black Rock is a place where connection, support, and collaboration thrive and I’m so excited to be a part of it.
I earned my Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University, and I’m passionate about creating engaging, inclusive learning experiences that help every student grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Outside the classroom, I love snowboarding, hiking, and spending quality time with my family. I’m also engaged and eagerly planning my wedding for April 2026—another exciting adventure ahead!
One of my goals this year is to build strong connections within this amazing community. I can’t wait to meet you in person, hear your stories, and work together to support our students every step of the way!
Ms. Bloch

4th Grade
My name is Austin Raby and I believe that when a kid’s basic needs are met, it allows them the opportunity to truly learn. This is my 5th year in elementary and my 12th year in education. I determined at an early age that I had a passion for working with children. I started my career in early childhood. I later moved to the elementary setting, which is my true passion. I actually did my practicum at Black Rock! So my elementary career started here.
I have had the amazing pleasure of getting to work with many amazing teachers at different schools such as Thunder Valley, and Sanborn, but I have never been in a place as warm as Black Rock and I’m happy to be back!

5th Grade
I’m Mr. Humble, and I’m excited to start my first year at Black Rock and my third year teaching 5th grade! I grew up in Longmont, graduated from Erie High School, and earned my degree in Elementary Education from Fort Hays State University, where I also played collegiate golf. In the classroom, I work hard to create a welcoming, engaging environment where students feel supported, challenged, and excited to learn. Outside of school, I enjoy watching sports, listening to music, and finding the best BBQ around. I’m especially looking forward to being part of the Black Rock community because of its strong relationships, school spirit, and dedication to helping every student succeed.
Best,
Mr. Humble

Speech-Language Pathologist
Hello Black Rock Community,
My name is Nicole Nolte Rierdon, and I’m so excited to be joining Black Rock as your Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) this year! Most students call me “Ms. Nicole,” but I also respond to “Ms. Nolte Rierdon” or “Ms. NR” 🙂
This will be my third year with St. Vrain. Prior to joining SVVSD, I worked in pediatric outpatient care for a corporate healthcare company in Wisconsin, where I was born and raised. My approach to therapy is first rooted in collaboration. I believe language develops best in natural, everyday interactions, and I look forward to working closely with teachers, staff, families, caregivers, and of course, your children.
Email ([email protected]) is the best way to reach me as I will be servicing multiple locations, so please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Here’s to a fantastic year ahead! Sincerely, Nicole

Front Office
I’m excited to be stepping into the front office at Black Rock Elementary after spending the past three years as the school’s technology teacher. Before joining Black Rock, I worked as an administrative assistant at a private school in Boulder, Colorado. A proud Colorado native, I’m married with two wonderful kids—both of whom attend Black Rock—and we share our home with two lively dogs. In my free time, I love to ski, read, and get creative with crafting. I’m looking forward to this new role and the opportunity to connect with even more students, families, and staff! Looking forward to a great year!
Mrs. Klida
