Another Amazing week!
We’re looking forward to welcoming families for Parent-Teacher Conferences starting Monday, September 29 through Thursday, October 2. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend—and don’t forget to wear orange on Monday to cheer on our Denver Broncos for Monday Night Football!

2025 Superintendent’s Town Hall Meetings
St. Vrain Valley Schools invites parents, teachers, staff, and community members to join Superintendent Dr. Jackie Kapushion, for one of our upcoming Superintendent Town Hall meetings. These annual forums, in each of our geographic areas provide an opportunity for Dr. Kapushion and district leaders to listen to our community’s questions and suggestions, celebrate successes, and share the district’s vision for the future.
Monday, September 29, 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Erie High School

Free or Reduced Meal Program
Families who believe they may qualify for free or reduced-price meals are encouraged to complete an application by Oct. 1. While all St. Vrain Valley students receive one free breakfast and one free lunch daily through Colorado’s Healthy School Meals for All program, submitting an application provides additional benefits to families such as fee waivers, college exam discounts, and reduced internet and utility costs, and also helps bring federal funding to support classrooms, after-school programs, technology, and additional meals and snacks for students. Applications are available online or at Nutrition Services, 2929 Clover Basin Dr., Longmont.

iPad Settings
St. Vrain’s District Technology Services has made several updates to student iPads for the upcoming school year to support a focused and secure digital learning environment both at school and at home. One key update is the implementation of a new internet filter, Securly, which adds an extra layer of protection to iPads by blocking certain types of websites. For more information about these updates – and what they mean for your child’s device — please click here.

RESPONSIBLE USE OF CELL PHONES AND PERSONAL DEVICES
We commit that each and every student will be recognized for their unique talents and aspirations, and receive an exceptional PreK-12 experience in St. Vrain Valley Schools in order to graduate with a strong competitive advantage.
EXPECTATIONS
- Phones must remain off or on silent mode during school hours unless specifically allowed by a teacher for instructional purposes.
- Phones must be kept out of sight during class time (e.g., in backpacks or lockers), unless given permission by a teacher.
- No photography, video, or audio recording is allowed during the school day without explicit permission from a teacher or administrator.
- Texting, calling, or using social media is not allowed during class time.
- Smartwatches and other wearable devices are subject to the same rules as phones. We ask that they be put on school mode.
CONSEQUENCES
- First offense: Verbal reminder of the expectation and communication to a parent/guardian.
- Second offense: Phone is confiscated, returned at the end of the class, and communication to a parent/guardian.
- Third offense: Phone is confiscated, returned at the end of the day, and communication to a parent/guardian.
- Fourth offense: Phone is confiscated and returned only to a parent/guardian.
- Further offenses: Additional disciplinary action, which may include loss of phone privileges at school for a set period of time or other consequences.

Book Fair Is Coming
Calling all Black Rock Families! Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair is coming up Sept. 29th -Oct. 3rd. The kids are super excited and we can’t wait to see what Scholastic has in store for us this fall, but we need your help. Please consider volunteering here in our library during the fair. The more volunteers we have, the better service we can provide our students and their families. They say it takes a village and this is never more true than during our Book Fairs. If you are able to share some time with us, please sign up in the Konstella app or contact
[email protected]
Additionally, we HIGHLY suggest setting up an eWallet for your child. This is a great way to help your kids participate in the fair without having to keep track of cash, checks, or cards. Through eWallets, you have the opportunity to preload money into a personal account that can be deducted from your account as your kids check out. It’s super easy! For more information regarding eWallets and to view our schools Book Fair Website, click on the image below.
