It’s time for Trunk-or-Treat presented by the BRES PTO!
Friday October 25th, 5-7pm
Black Rock Elementary PTO is excited for our upcoming Trunk-or-Treat event, and we need parent volunteers!
3 Ways to Help:
1. Sign up to host a trunk: Click here
2. Sign up to volunteer: Click here
3. Donate bags of candy to the Candy Monster in the lobby
Candy Drive to prepare for our Trunk-or-Treat event! Help us feed our Candy Monster in the school lobby by dropping off a bag of new candy or non-edible giveaways. The monster is hungry! Your donations will help us provide an amazing experience for all our Trunk-or-Treaters.
What do you think the Candy Monster’s name should be? Have your student write their name idea on a piece of paper taped to your candy donation. We will have students vote for the best name!
Did you know that October is Dyslexia Awareness Month? Help us recognize the needs of students with characteristics of dyslexia by spreading the word about these upcoming learning opportunities.
Are you looking to support families of students with characteristics of dyslexia to grow their understanding of the Power of Self-Advocacy?
Join us at this workshop-style presentation on October 24th at 5:30 pm. Students who attend this event will learn how to develop a tool to support and communicate their needs.
The Power of Self-Advocacy See flyer for details.
Do you know of parents who would benefit from learning more about the needs of students with dyslexia? Invite them to this Dyslexia 101 presentation on October 30th at 5:00 pm. While parents learn together, students have an opportunity to connect with fellow students with similar learning differences and have fun!
Darts, Donuts, and Dyslexia. See flyer for details.
Does Your Erie Student Qualify for Free/Reduced Lunch at School?
If so, they are eligible for Erie UpLink’s Tiger Packs program. Tiger Packs contain kid-friendly, nonperishable food items and are delivered to the students’ doorsteps once per month on the Wednesday prior to school breaks to help bridge the food gap for those kids who normally receive free breakfast and lunch at school. Parents can sign up online at:
https://www.erieuplink.org/tiger-pack-registration
*Registration must be resubmitted each school year
