Hope and Gratitude is TONIGHT

Join us for the sixth annual Hope & Gratitude Project–happening TONIGHT, November 14th from 5-8 PM! We still need volunteers, check the Konstella app!
This year’s event will be held at Coal Creek Park & feature luminaries made by students & staff from schools throughout Erie as well as some Erie Homeschoolers.
We invite you to write your own hopes & gratitudes on our large community luminaries as you walk through the event.
Some of the restaurants downtown will be participating in a Dine-to-Donate event that evening and splitting the proceeds between participating schools. Please check the Soaring Heights PTO social media or ask at the event to find out which restaurants are participating!

November 18th marks the 67th day of school at Black Rock—and we’ve officially survived hearing “6–7” for the 10,000th time! Come celebrate with a mocktail, or cocktail, and enjoy an evening of connection as we chat all things Black Rock.

Birthday’s at Black Rock
BIRTHDAYS – In lieu of parties, birthdays will be celebrated at Black Rock Elementary with birthday buttons. On the day of their birthday (or weekday closest to it if it falls on a weekend), a student will be recognized on the morning announcements and they will receive a birthday button to wear during the day.
This allows the school community to recognize and celebrate this special day with each student. If a child’s a birthday is during the summer months, parents may choose a “half birthday” or we will recognize summer birthdays in May. In support of our St. Vrain School Wellness Policy (Procedure 741-ADF), families are not
permitted to bring in classroom birthday treats (ie. cupcakes, cookies, pizzas, etc.).
(Invitations to private parties are not to be distributed at school, unless all members of the student’s
class are invited.)
After School Playground Use
Playground Reminder
We love seeing families enjoy our playground after school! Please remember that students must be supervised by a parent or guardian and that all school rules still apply when using the equipment. The playground is open for family use until 3:42 p.m. At that time, we kindly ask families to head home so our after-school program, Rock Pile, can make use of the space. Thank you for helping us keep our playground safe and fun for everyone!
